Drivers who don't register off-island vehicles face £1,000 fine

Fri, 17 Jun 2011

The government's to begin taking action against people who don't register vehicles that have been bought off-island.

Motorists could face a £1,000 fine.

The Department of Infrastructure says vehicles must get their Manx number plates as soon as possible after being brought here.

It's also illegal for them to be on the roads without a Manx tax disc.

Motors over three years old have to go through testing before they can be registered and taxed on the Island.

The DOI has asked police to be on the look out for drivers who are breaking these laws.
