Police yet to give further details on Athol Street incident

Police are yet to release further details about an incident in Douglas which left a man seriously injured.

The victim was found by a member of the public at the corner of Athol Street and Church Street at around 7.15.

The man was taken to hospital but investigators haven't yet said what condition he's in, or revealed the nature of his injuries.

A 22 year old Douglas man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Roads in the area were cordoned off in the hours following the incident but some have begun to reopen.

Shaw's Brow car park, Barrack Street from the junction with Lord Street have opened again

There's also access to the rear of most properties on Athol Street, except via Upper Church Street.
