OFT warns of potentially dangerous microwaves

The Office of Fair Trading is issuing a warning over microwave ovens which could pose a safety risk.

The Sanyo appliances have the potential to leak electricity and cause severe electric shocks.

Only two models from the Sanyo range are affected and have been on sale since March 2010.

The company is now recalling models with certain serial numbers.

You can check these by looking at the label on the back of the microwave.
