Select Committee to take evidence in public

Mon, 30 Jan 2012

A Tynwald Select Committee set up following allegations of corruption will take evidence in public next week.

A group of politicians will examine the rules surrounding the declarations of interests by local authority members.

It comes after a Petition of Grievance was brought by the former owner of Onchan Squash Club Rae Hamilton who became embroiled in a row with former Chairman of Onchan Commissioners Brian Stowell.

The pair will both be called to give evidence to the inquiry from 2pm on Monday 6th February at the Legislative buildings in Douglas.
