OFT monitors cancelled festival refunds

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

The Office of Trading says it’s monitoring the situation regarding refunds for a cancelled music festival.

There’ve been complaints from some people who had tickets for the Isle of Man Festival which was due to be held last month.

Although a couple of well known acts were on the bill and it was backed by MTV, the event didn’t generate enough interest from the public and organisers called it off.

Some people reported getting their money back almost instantly but there is a problem with tickets paid for through PayPal.

The OFT says it has spoken to the organiser and has learned that efforts are being made to resolve the PayPal issues and to refund the money.

People wanting further advice should contact the OFT.

The festival organisers have also provided an email address for people to contact them: rockingmann@manx.net
