Stolen items recovered from house of dead woman

Police say they recovered a number of stolen items from a house in Strang where a woman was found dead.

It follows enquiries into a number of burglaries in Strang and Union Mills on Tuesday, April 22nd and Wednesday, April 23rd.

As part of the investigation a search warrant was obtained and during a search of the house the body of the householder Cheryl Eves was found.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious and is still under investigation by the coroner.

Although the items were located within her address enquiries are still on-going as to how they got there.

Police say it serves as a timely reminder to the public to ensure basic home security measures are taken to ensure properties are locked and secure.
