Football fan damages pitch with smoke bomb

Police are hunting for a football fan who set off a smoke bomb during a match on Sunday.

The device was put on the AstroTurf pitch at The Bowl in Douglas between 4.45pm and 5pm.

It was following the match between Douglas High School Old Boys and St Georges.

Police say it would appear to be a reckless act committed in celebration rather than a deliberate act - but have urged the person responsible to come forward.
