Cannabis charges result in community service and fine for Douglas man

Thu, 08 Jan 2015

A Douglas man has been fined and given community service after pleading guilty to cannabis charges.

25 year old Janis Jekabsons had previously admitted four charges of being unlawfully concerned in the production of the Class B drug cannabis bush.

Four packages, each containing around 36.1g of the drug were intercepted at the Post Office sorting office between March 3rd and March 10th.

Upon a home search police found evidence of mail order drug websites, and two wraps of cannabis - Jekabsons admitted a fifth charge for possession.

He was handed 80 hours of community service, and fined £125.
