The father of a 10-year-old who died in a bus crash two years ago has pleaded guilty to causing her death by dangerous driving.

46-year-old Raymond French had originally denied the charge but re-arraigned and changed his plea.

He also admitted a charge of causing serious bodily harm to the bus driver by dangerous driving.

French's BMW collided with the bus near to Ballakaighan Corner on October 5th 2013 - his daughter Alexis suffered head injuries and died in hospital.

The Ballaugh man had been due to stand trial for the offences next month - however the trial has now been vacated and he will be sentenced on October 30th.

The Attorney General's Chambers has refused to confirm whether a charge of manslaughter, which French previously denied, has been withdrawn.
