Peel MHK welcomes 'desperately' needed sewerage plans

Funding for a new sewerage treatment works in Peel has been brought forward with the new plant expected to be operational by 2019.

Treasury has granted permission to begin preliminary design work early - the area's MHK Ray Harmer has welcomed the move.

Concerns have been raised about issues with sewerage after the beaches failed three out of four of the last inspections.

Mr Harmer says due to Peel's popularity the new plant is "desperately" needed:
