Douglas fire station on Peel Road was among a number of facilities flooded last December.

The Isle of Man Fire Service is urging the Manx public to prepare for winter weather.

The Island was hit by floods last December, with the National Sports Centre and Douglas Fire Station among the facilities affected.

However, the fire service believes measures such as clearing blocked gutters and keeping drains clear can help minimise the impact on residential properties.

More tips on preparing properties for the winter can be found on the fire service's Facebook page.
