Ballagarey sewage works to take 42 weeks

Fri, 15 Sep 2017

A 42-week project to replace sewage treatment works in Marown is getting underway.

Manx Utilities is installing two new plants which will meet the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture's standards at Ballagarey.

While the work is carried out, the trail between Glen Darragh Road and the Glenlough Campsite will be closed - those who use the trail will need to bypass the section using the main Douglas to Peel road.

Although the work isn't due to be completed until July next year, Manx Utilities insists it will work with the Department of Infrastructure to maintain access during TT.
