Almost £180,000 spent on emergency dental service

Almost £180,000 has been spent providing emergency dental treatment to Manx residents over the last five years.

The Department of Health and Social Care revealed it has cost £179,387.15 to operate the Emergency Dental Service since 2012.

The 2014-15 financial year was the most expensive, costing £43,228.50, while just £22,090 has been spent in the last financial year.

Just over 4600 people have contacted the service since 2012, while just under 4000 have received treatment.
