New names for two Government departments

Two Departments of the Manx Government will be using new names from today.

The Department of Economic Development has become the Department for Enterprise, with some of its responsibilities being transferred to other areas of the Government.

Employment services, staff training and the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre complex will now be run by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture, which is the new name for the Department of Education and Children.

Around 25% of the staff from Economic Development are expected to be transferred to other Government departments.
