Three local athletes are in full training in preparation for the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon, which they’re completing to raise funds for an important island charity.
Accounts administrator and freelance fitness instructor Amy Killip, HR Manager Kevin Perks and Manx Utilities employee Ian Dunbar, will take part in the premier running event on Sunday 7th April in aid of The Children’s Centre.
Although all three keep active and lead healthy lifestyles, this will be the first marathon for Amy and Kevin, who are both new to long-distance running. For Ian, this will be his second. He ran the Dublin Marathon in October 2018 and is looking forward to the challenge and hopes to improve on his time.
Lisa Motley, Endurance Events Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre said: ‘We are delighted that this intrepid trio are running Asics Greater Manchester Marathon for The Children’s Centre and are looking forward to being there to support them and cheer them over the finish line."
