32 year old British Team Sky cyclist Bradley Wiggins has been released from hospital today with broken ribs after being knocked off his bike by a motorist near his home in Lancashire last night.
Typically a broken rib can take four to six weeks to heal, although he should be able to train on a ststic bike in a weeks time.
After the incident, British cycling have called on the UK goverment to urgently improve safety measures for cyclists on the roads.
