Ayre Clay Target Club Report

Eleven shooters took part in the Olympic Trap Manx Championship at Ayre Clay Target Club’s Blue Point Range on Sunday in near perfect conditions.

Leader at the halfway stage was Neil Parsons on 44/50.  James Bradley, Kevin Oates and David ‘Wilfy’ Walton were three behind in second with 41.

 

Parsons was still at the top after the second half, going into the final with a score of 90/100.  Walton was one clay behind on 89 with Harvey Wood third with 85.  Oates, Bradley and Jeff Fargher completed the final six.

 

After 15 targets, Parsons and Bradley contested the gold medal.  Parsons claimed the championship and gold medal, with Olympic Skeet Bradley having to settle for silver.

Walton and Oates shot off for the bronze with Walton taking the honours.

 

This week at Blue Point is 50 English Sporting sponsored by the Trafalgar Hotel of Ramsey.  Setting up is on Sunday morning from 8.30am with entries closing at 10.15am.
