Ayre Clay Target Club Report

Twenty seven shooters contested the annual All Round Manx Championship trophy at Ayre Clay Target Club’s Blue Point range on Sunday.

 

Leading after the single barrel Down the Line part of the competition was last year’s winner, Martin Kneen with 23/25.  Joint second were Paul Mihailovits and junior shooter Jack Kneen on 21.

 

Marty Kneen led at the halfway stage, shooting 23 at English Skeet for a running total of 47.  Mihailovits and Kevin Oates were in second and third place, both shooting 23 in the skeet for totals of 44 and 42 respectively.

 

Oates overtook Mihailovits, shooting 17 in the third and final round of English Sporting, to Mihailovits’ 14 to claim the silver medal.  Kneen again scored the most, hitting 19 to retain his title.

 

This week there are two Universal Trench selection shoots.  Saturday’s competition sign in closes at 1.30pm.  Sunday’s competition is also the Manx Championship; sign in closes at 10.15am prompt.  Open practice in other disciplines will also be available.
