There was another busy weekend of shooting at Ayre Clay Target Club’s Blue Point range.
The second round of the Down the Line league was shot in testing wet and windy conditions. Mike Walker was the winner of the 50 target competition on 47/137. Phil Ward was second on 47/133 with Kevin Oates third on 44/127. Walker went on to take victory in the 100 league with 95/275. Oates moved up one place to second with 93/266 as Ward was third on 90/258.
The afternoon shoot was the 60 Double Trap league sponsored by Top Spec Fencing. Jake Keeling was the winner on 44. Jackie Clague was second on 37 with Bob Corlett third on 31.
Bank Holiday Monday’s competition was the annual Three Shot Auto Challenge. The 75 target course was tackled by 21 competitors in brilliant sunshine. Marty Kneen was the winner with 66/75. Neil Parsons was second on 63 with Juan Cowley third on 59.
This week’s competitions are 50 Olympic Skeet and 50 Olympic Trap leagues. Entries for both close at 10.15am
