Team GB's flagbearer from the closing ceremony of this summer's Olympics will be the guest of honour at the Isle of Man Sports Awards.

Kate Richardson-Walsh captained Britain's women's hockey team to gold in Rio four years after winning bronze in London, and has made from than 370 appearances for the team.

The awards to celebrate the Isle of Man's sporting achievements in 2016 will take place in the spring, with nominations for the awards invited throughout December and January.

Richardson-Walsh has now retired from international duty, but also spent 13 years as England captain, winning the world championships last year, as well as a bronze and two silvers at the Commonwealth Games.
