Ellan Vannin have withdrawn from the Paddy Power ConIFA World Football Cup with immediate effect.
This is due to the way the team feels it has been treated following an appeal against a ruling that let Barawa to field a player not eligible for the tournament.
Ellan Vannin were beaten 2-0 by Barawa in their final group game and with Cascadia beating Tamil Eelam 7-0 it meant that despite Ellan Vannin winning their first two group games they were knocked out of the event.
Ellan Vannin were due to play Tibet today in the first of the tournaments placement games but for the welfare of the players and staff have decided it best to fly home.
