Manx Two Day Trial - Day 1

Sun, 15 Jul 2018

At the end of day 1 it was a Gas Gas clean sweep at the top of the Expert Solo class with Josh Brain completing the 40 sections for no loss. Showing supreme style and skill around the testing sections he is five marks clear of second placed veteran Juan Knight. Barry Kinley, Ben Sprigg and William Brockbank all finished the day on 10 marks apiece, so its all still to play for on day 2.

The Sidecars was also very close, with the recent dry conditions making the going dry and grippy for all. Nigel Crellin/Chris Molyneux completed the day with a loss of 2 marks, with Jack Corlett/Beth Thomas close behind on 4. Olly Lace/Ealish Baxter slot into third position a further mark back, with Nigel and Gracie-May Scott in fourth.

Clubman Solo as ever provides close competition throughout the field and its another clean ride that seals first spot, this time for Guy Chandler on his air cooled JCM. Vertigo mounted Richard Mellon is second after losing just 1 mark, level with George Pollard and first of the local riders, Wayne Wardell in fourth on 2 marks lost.

Sunday is traditionally a harder test for the riders and with the scores so close it's going to be a battle of nerves and concentration to see who comes out on top at the end of Sundays competition.
