Detective says sex abuse case is the worst he's ever seen

A Detective Inspector from the Public Protection Unit has described a case where a man abused his four step-children as the worst case he's ever seen.

Phil Shimmin says the evidence shows the man to be evil.

The 58 year old, who hasn't been named to protect the identities of his victims, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

He was convicted of numerous sexual offences, including rape and indecent assault.

The offences were committed in the 70s and 80s, but it has taken his victims until now come forward.

The three girls and one boy were aged 4 to 17 when they were abused.
