Lifeboat rescues stricken yacht

Mon, 19 Jul 2010

Port Erin's lifeboat crew were called out after a yacht suffered engine failure.

The yacht, named jellyfish, was travelling from Peel to Port St Mary when the propellor got stuck on Saturday morning.

The two crew managed to free it but the vessel then suffered an engine failure.

The lifeboat was sent out when the coastguard lost radio contact with jellyfish.

The lifeboat crew commended the two women on board, who were correctly equipped and had planned their journey.
