Army regiment to be honoured in Douglas

The 12th Regiment Royal artilliery is to be honoured with the freedom of Douglas.

The regiment which recruits heavily on the Isle of Man is to be honoured in a ceremony next month.

The ceremony will be held outside the Town Hall in Ridgeway Street, before the regiment marches to the war memorial, where wreaths will be laid.

The last people to be bestowed the freedom of the city where the Bee Gees for there services to music, and Olympic cyclist Mark Cavendish in recognition of his outstanding achievments in world cycling.
