Students receive exam results

Thu, 19 Aug 2010

Around 400 Manx students will receive their A level results today.

Last year, students on the Island completed the exams in over 40 different subjects.

The Department of Education and Children will publish a summary of the results this afternoon.

It's expected this year's pass rate will be similar to last year.

In the UK media there's been speculation that A levels are getting easier and more students are taking so-called "soft" subjects.

Paul Craine from the DEC says traditional universities are responsible for some subjects being considered easier than others [play clip]
