IoM and UK agree new health deal

The Isle of Man has agreed a new Reciprocal Health Agreement with the United Kingdom.

The deal ensures Manx residents will continue to receive free hospital treatment if needed whilst in the UK, and vice versa.

The agreement was raised in Westminster this morning.

It's a long standing arrangement with no fixed end date.

Mr Brown also revealed to Energy FM news that without the help of former UK Secretary of State Andy Burnham there would be no health agreement in place.

The Labour Minister, stepped into halt the termination of the agreement and put a temporary one in place.

The new longstanding agreement was announced this morning, the Chief Minister says Andy Burnham played a major part in the process [play clip 2]
