UK charity offers support to Manx parents as Uni begins

Sat, 18 Sep 2010

As Manx Freshers leave the island to take up university courses, a UK based charity is offering support to parents on the island suffering from Empty Nest Syndrome.

Empty Nest Syndrome is name given to a general feeling of loneliness that parents or guardians may feel when one or more of their children leave home; and although it is more common in women, chaps can feel it too.

Parentline Plus say although Mum's and Dad's want their children to get a headstart in life, they may still be anxious as their offspring prepare to live away from home for the first time.
