New facility for Island's Ambulance Service in the West

Fri, 03 Sep 2010

Ambulance crews in the west of the Island will be able to offer an enhanced service for residents from today.

The Old Forestry building in St Johns has been made available for use by crews on standby by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture. It means that emergency staff now have access to a warm restroom with facilities, rather than sitting in a cold vehicle. The new site is also perfectly situated for quick access to Peel, Foxdale, Dalby, Glen Maye and the TT course towards Kirk St Michael.

Minister for Health David Anderson says it's a good example of joined up thinking and working together to solve problems.
