"Child Catcher" law to go before House of Keys

Tue, 26 Oct 2010

A controversial new law is to be put before the house of keys today.

Police are asking for the power to remove under 1's from areas if there are too many of them, even if they're not committing an offence.

The proposal has been dubbed " The Child Catcher" law from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and has been criticised by a number of children's services on the Island.

MHK for Rushen Quintin Gill believes the measure will alienate the Islands youngsters and should be opposed.
