Union Boss calls on Government to dip into reserves

Mon, 15 Nov 2010

The head of one of the biggest unions on the Island has given us her reaction to the news that the Government has over 1.3 billion pounds in the bank.

Angela Moffatt says she's shocked by the amount of funds currently being managed on the Island's behalf, and would like to see some of it used to safeguard public sector jobs.

Most Public sector staff on the Island have taken a pay freeze over recent years which in turn is having a knock on effect to the retail and hospitality sectors.

Miss Moffatt's Union represents over 1500 government workers.
