MHK says bus timetables cost four times more than first thought

Tue, 16 Nov 2010

A former member of the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure has claimed the new bus timetables cost four times as much to print as previously declared.

Brenda Cannell made a personal statement in Tynwald this morning, in which she said she had little involvement in the preparations for the new bus network.

Mrs Cannell produced Hansard evidence that it had previously been stated in Tynwald that the A4 timetables cost 10p each, and 35,000 were ordered.

However, the Douglas East MHK says the actual cost was 40p per copy, totalling £14,000.

She says she didn't even get to see a copy before they were printed [play clip]
