SPC denies freight agreement with Mezeron

The Steam Packet Company has distanced itself from rival firm Mezeron, following speculation that the operators had an agreement for handling freight during weather disruptions.

The Steam Packet says it has no arrangement with Mezeron, but has brought goods to the Island when Mezeron vessels have been unable to sail.

In a statement, the Packet says it has no desire to see Manx companies experiencing shortages, but that it cannot always accomodate freight last minute.
