Public sector housing rates are set to increase by 5% from April.

The Maintenance allowance for such housing is to be cut by 30%.

It's expected these changes will save the taxpayer around £1million annually.

The Department of Social Care is spending £130million on public sector housing over the next five years.

The changes were approved by the Council of Ministers.
