Fees to hire Department of Education and Children facilities could go down in the future.

The Department is looking at ways to lower the cost of renting out its buildings out of hours.

Currently, the DEC makes just short of £90,000 a year from lettings, but it costs over £120,000 to staff the facilities for such use.

The Department is looking into having allocated keyholders to reduce the need for staff.

It's hoped a reduction in hire charges could encourage more people to use the buildings
