Manual workers fighting for pay increase

Manual workers on the Island are hopeful of a five and a half percent pay rise.

Whitley Council Terms and Conditions state the Council's members are entitled to an annual increase of the interest rate plus half a percent.

The employees side of the Council previously requested a lesser pay increase which was rejected by employers.

Eric Holmes is the employees representative and he tells Energy FM news why his members deserve the increase.
