Tue, 08 Feb 2011

Teenagers around the Island are taking part in a survey about their use of drugs and alcohol.

Parents of youngsters in school years 10 and 11 have received letters informing them of the study.

In 2009, results from a previous ESPAD survey showed Manx teenagers in a poor light.

The findings showed they had a worse track record for binge drinking than teens in the United Kingdom and nearly all of Europe -Only teens in Bulgaria were found to drink more.

Solvent abuse was nearly twice the average.

The results of the current study won't be known until next year.
