Inflation increase not a surprise

Inflation rose to 6% in January.

The Treasury says the rise from 5.5% in December is not a surprise.

Treasury Minister Anne Craine has put the increase down to the rise in VAT and the cost of commodities such as oil.

However, she adds that inflation is expected to improve over the coming months
