Road Safety Chiefs launch hands free campaign

Fri, 18 Feb 2011

A new campaign has been launched encouraging drivers on the Island's roads to use hands free equipment.

Operation hands free urges motorists not to use their phones behind the wheel unless they have the correct hands free accessories.

Mobile phones caused 37 accidents on the Isle of Man last year.

Gordon Edwards, manager of the Road Safety Unit, says some calls can't be ignored, but they should be answered safely [play clip]
