Langness footpaths case back in court

Tue, 01 Mar 2011

The government believes progress is being made in resolving the Langness footpaths row - but it's not a view shared by everyone.

MHK David Anderson has been giving an update in the House of Keys.

The matter is currently in the courts after a number of people, including landowner Jeremy Clarkson challenged attempts to have some paths on the pensinsula designated public rights of way.

The matter has been back in court yesterday and today, and a ruling is awaited.

The decision can still be subject to appeal.

Up till this point it's cost the tax payer £50,000.

South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey told the House of Keys that three years on and we're no further forward on the matter.
