The Department of Social Care has been outlining the ways it can make savings to cope with increased demand over the coming year.

The Department says it is its policy to make savings in administration and support whilst maintaining frontline services.

The budget for social services has increased by 2.4% for the coming year.

Over £1million has been saved in efficiency measures within Social Care over the past year.

The Department is looking at introducing charges to some services where people are able to pay.

However it's looking to protect those on low incomes and other vulnerable members of the community.
