Programme to rebalance public spending

A programme to work on rebalancing the Island's finances has been announced by the Government.

The Transforming Government Programme aims to find savings within Government over the next three years.

Areas being examined include introducing shared service centres, reducing staffing costs and using technology better.

It's hoped the Programme will help rebalance public finances by the 2014 to 2015 financial year.
