Onchan looks for alternative recycling options

Fri, 01 Apr 2011

Onchan Commissioners are looking at alternative ways to recycle, after deciding to pull out of the kerbside recycling scheme.

The local authority is looking for suitable sites for bring banks, so that residents can still recycle their waste.

It's thought bring banks could be accomodated at Jubilee Playground by Birch Hill stores, and on the land opposite the entrance to Heywood Court.

The Commissioners are also looking into inclusing smaller recycling points at a number of sites around Onchan, including on Royal Drive, at Onchan Park and Port Jack
