Thu, 28 Apr 2011

A student who contracted a life-threatening infection after surgery for a sports injury is preparing to cycle 1,800 miles for charity.

Kit Alexander and his friend Johnny Hawe will set out on the trip from England to Greece on 6th May.

Kit will be returning to Zakynthos where he was injured in a wake boarding accident last year.

After surgery to fix a tendon in his knee, the 21 year old caught sceptic arthritis which threatened his life and left him needing nine more operations.

Kit was treated in the Island's Hyperbaric Chamber which will be benefiting from the money he raises.
