Manx online gambling firms safeguarding players' funds

Tue, 10 May 2011

It's been confirmed that all online gambling operators on the Island are complying with licensing requirements to keep players' funds separate from business capital.

The Department of Economic Development says the safeguards mean any player can withdraw from their gambling account at any time.

The reassurance comes after some US players had access to their Pokerstars accounts frozen, whilst investigations into the Isle of Man based poker site were carried out.

Players' money must be held in separate bank accounts to business funds and protected by law through trust arrangements or bank guarantees
