Bay Festival in doubt

Thu, 12 May 2011

There's a big question mark over whether or not the Isle of Man Bay Festival will go ahead.

Indications at the moment are that it may be cancelled, although Energy FM has been unable to get in touch with the organisers to find out if this is definitely the case.

The festival is due to be held in Noble's Park from the 17th to 19th June.

Acts like Tinie Tempah, Tinchie Stryder, Wretch32 and the stars of the last X Factor series are due to appear.

If the festival is called off, it could affect the Elton John concert, which is due to be held in the same marquee the day before.

People who've tried telephoning for tickets today claim they've been told the event is cancelled.

The Bay Festival is run by businessman Jonathon Irving and his son Jamie.

Despite repeated attempts throughout the afternoon to contact the Irvings to have the rumours either confirmed or denied, Energy FM News has been unable to reach them.

If the numerous rumours are to be believed, an announcement is due tomorrow.

Energy FM will let you know as soon as we find out what the situation is.
