Calls for Clerk of the Course to resign

Fri, 03 Jun 2011

There're calls for the Clerk of the Course to resign at the end of this year's TT after marshals were told to 'stop whingeing.'

There've been complaints from some race volunteers, especially those on the mountain, about the length of time it takes for them to be able to leave their posts after a practice or race.

A Tetra radio message from Eddie Nelson via race control told them to 'stop whingeing about nothing.'

There's been an angry reaction by some marshals who're threatening to quit.

Chairman of the TT Marshals Association Terry Holmes read out a statement on Radio TT urging volunteers not to resign.[Play audio file below]

Meanwhile, Eddie Nelson has now issued a public apology to marshals following the comment he made last night.
