Changes planned for intellectual property laws

Sat, 04 Jun 2011

The public is being asked for its views on the future of the Island's intellectual property laws.

The Department of Economic Development is consulting on proposed changes to the current legislation.

Amongst the planned changes is extending copyright from 50 years to 70 years after an author's death and new rules for damages and infringement.

The consultation can be downloaded from the Government's website. All replies must be submitted by the end of July
