Festival organiser to dispose of assets to pay refunds

Mon, 20 Jun 2011

Refunds for people who bought tickets for the Isle of Man Bay Festival are dependant on third parties.

Festival promoter Jonathan Irving has admitted that giving money back to ticket holders relies on disposing of assets.

The funds aren't readily available as they've already been spent on deposits for acts for the festival.

Ticket agent HMV would normally handle refunds for cancelled events, but they've already given the cash to Bay Festival.

At least one early refund cheque handed out by Mr Irving has bounced.

He says he hopes to be able to give people their money back by the end of July, but can't give any guarantees [take cut]
