Police officer charged over Manx student's death

A police officer has been charged with causing death by careless driving after a Manx student died whilst on a night out in Sheffield.

19 year old Jamie Haslett died in October last year after being hit by a police car on Broad Lane in the city centre.

41 year old PC Rodney Craig Mills is to appear before Bradford Magistrates later this month.

The charge comes following an investigation by the Independant Police Complaints Commission.

The Manx teenager was studying Sport and Business Management at Sheffield Hallam University
